Optimized design of concrete-filled steel columns

Abstract The objective of this paper is to present the formulation optimization problem and its application design concrete-filled composite columns with without reinforcement steel bars, according recommendations from NBR 8800:2008, 16239:2013 EN 1994-1-1:2004. A comparative analysis between aforementioned standards performed for various geometries considering cost, efficiency materials in order verify which parameters influence solution column that satisfies proposed problems. obtained by using genetic algorithm method featured MATLAB’s guide toolbox. For examples analyzed, results show concretes compressive strength greater than 50MPa directly regarding cost resistance normal forces.
